Argument at the market - good sample

From Dorothy:
***********

I had that strange premonition that something bad would happen sooner or later.

The ensuing argument lasted for a few minutes. The customer was obviously having a hard time rebutting. “I am sure I gave you four dollars,” the customer declared loudly. A crowd started to form but no one seemed to bother to break up the squabble. Some passers-by even took photos of the arguers as testament to the public display of lack of social graces.

All of a sudden, the fish monger grabbed a pair of sharp scissors. I was utterly horrified. Bloody scenes of the immediate future flashed through my mind. My mother’s face turned as white as a sheet of paper. We wanted to run but our legs were rooted to the ground.
